The concept

A space where the law is interrogated, not just recited.

The Lexis Jurist Podcast was conceived as something the legal world rarely produces: a genuinely intellectual conversation about law — one that doesn’t stop at doctrine, but asks why the doctrine exists, who it serves, and where it is heading.
Hosted by Ahmad Waqas — law professor, legal educator, and founder of Lexis Jurist — each episode takes a question, a case, a controversy, or an idea, and presses it from every angle: legal, philosophical, social, and technological.
Whether solo or with a guest, the goal is always the same: to make the listener think — not just know.

"The law is not a wall to hide behind. It is a lens through which we understand who we are as a society and who we choose to become."

Ahmad Waqas, Host

Solo Episodes

Deep-dives led by Ahmad alone — structured arguments, doctrinal analysis, and philosophical reflection.

Guest Episodes

Conversations with lawyers, scholars, technologists, philosophers, and practitioners from around the world.

FIVE PILLARS OF INTELLECTUAL INQUIRY

Legal & Social Issues

Law does not exist in a vacuum. Every statute, every judgment and every constitutional clause is embedded in society. Explore how law shapes — and is shaped by — power, identity, inequality and community.
Your Host

Ahmad Waqas

Barrister · Law Professor · Founder, Lexis Jurist

Teaching at the University of London and through his own academy, Lexis Jurist, he has guided hundreds of students through the intellectual demands of the LLB — developing in them not just knowledge, but a capacity for argument.
The podcast is the natural extension of that mission: to bring the rigour of the seminar room to anyone, anywhere, who wants to think seriously about law.
